What we'll do

This ride is open to financial MBTC members only.
Hi tourers, do yourself a favour and came along on this discovery ride.
We’ll be riding along the fascinating Coorong National Park and the Limestone Coast; we’ll be visiting quaint fishing villages and out-of-the-way hamlets, there’re numerous highlights along the way such as the Birdman of the Coorong; Cape Jaffa; Tantanoola Caves; Princess Margaret Rose Caves; The Granites; Jacks Point observatory; Tower Hill Reserve; etc.
The last day we’ll be riding along the beautiful Port Fairy-Warrnambool bike trail.
We’ll be hugging the coast on fairly flat terrain allowing us to cover 60-80 kms a day, according to the conditions on the day.
The scenery will prove to be spectacular.
Overnight we’ll be stopping at campgrounds (there’re many along the way), caravan parks, and pubs/motels. We will consider a rest day to get ourselves together and check equipment.
Will be eating takeaways, at pub/restaurants, and some camp cooking.
Bikes to be well maintained and in good working order, fitted with racks/trailer, preferably touring, CX or off-road with minimum 32 mm tyres suitable for unsealed terrain.
You must carry tools, spares, first aid kit, and any other equipment required for you to be fully self-sufficient. Although we may consider sharing some items such as cooking stoves; tools kits; etc. to carry less weight.
The ride terminates at Warrnambool train station where you can catch a train back to the big smoke, train departs twice a day.
