What we're about
"Building community is to the collective as spiritual practice is to the individual" - Grace Lee Boggs
This Melbourne Spiritual Exchange (MSE) is for spiritually minded people who would like to connect and share with each other in a safe, supportive and friendly environment. Where giving and receiving is encouraged, whether it be in mind, heart, energy, skills or ones own time.
Our aim is to empower people in their everyday lives, build human connections, and exchange wisdom wherever possible. Some of the events include movie and games nights, meditation circles, dinners and skill exchanges. Note all events are subject to change, so please refer to our online calendar (https://www.meetup.com/MelbourneSpiritualExchange/events/) for the latest details. While there are no membership fees, sometimes an organiser may incur a small charge for certain events to cover costs. Additional donations and acts of charity are welcomed :)
In a place where we can all feel nurtured, respected and understood. Come join us as we grow and evolve along the path of human compassion. We are a non-for-profit group. Members are encouraged to post a photo and description of themselves on their profile, while introducing themselves to the group. What are my interests? What am I hoping to get out of it? How can I help the group as a collective? Our organizers would love to know more about you and how we can all work together. As the great Greek philosopher and scientist Aristotle once said 'The whole is greater than the sum of its parts'.
MSE does not affiliate or favour any one particular spiritual group, organisation or practice. We encourage spiritual diversity, where different cultures, faiths and practices can co-exist in peace and harmony. Hence, our group is non-discriminatory, non-denominational and non-sectarian. MSE is not responsible for any contact made outside the group, including personal details and private meetings.
Your rights and freedoms are honoured wherever possible. Privacy and confidentiality is maintained by organisers, who will not be forwarding any known sensitive information (e.g. personal and contact details) without the person/s consent.
As valued and respected members of our community, all forms of communication and social behaviour should be conducted in an appropriate and courteous nature. Organizers will not tolerate any form of offensive, abusive or inappropriate conduct. Action will be taken as needed. And if the situation is serious enough, authorities will be contacted.
