What we'll do
We will meet at the North Harbour Reserve. The session will begin with a 5 minute meditation in order to energise us mentally and physically, bring a heightened awareness to our body and a strong focus to our minds prior to exercising.
We will then do a short body-weight session focusing on our form, bodies and breathing.
This will last approximately 25 minutes so it will be short but non-stop to get the heart rate up, muscles burning, and endorphins flowing :)
The session will finish with some yoga and stretching and a final longer meditation for approximately 15 minutes. The workout routine and style of yoga and meditation will vary from week to week and will be aimed at teaching you different mindfulness techniques and methods to help improve your physical and mental well being.
To give you an idea below are a few examples of past sessions:
- Lower body burn, yoga for flexibility and gratitude meditation
- Balance and core, Vinyasa style yoga and Metta (kindness and compassion) style meditation
- Full body workout, yin style yoga and mediation for de-stressing and relaxation
All you need to bring with you is a towel and a bottle of water - you're welcome to bring a yoga mat if you have one.
