Newtown Reiki Share Circle is intended to be a meeting place for persons interested in practicing Reiki however using a technique where up to four persons (in an ideal configuration) apply Reiki simultaneously to a person on the table instead of the usual one on one arrangement but ..... we can only work with whatever numbers are present.

Why is group Reiki different ? Combined multiple interacting energy streams can alter the vibrational frequency of a localized area and those within it particularly if the hands on, hands off procedures are arranged and synchronized in specific patterns.

It's therefore greater than normal volumes of energies inducted then re-distributed by multiple persons around the table which deliver enhanced healing effects to whoever is on the table compared to the usual one on one arrangement.

Participating in Reiki is very easy to become familiar with, flexible, adaptable and will probably evolve into a more refined format over time after more hands on experience and participant feedback has accumulated however what happens is basically Reiki ..... working with the universal life force energy.

Also it needs to be clear that it's not necessary to be an experienced healer possessing a Reiki certificate however it would be helpful to have one or some experience working with energy.

This is all about hands on participation ..... sharing with others so essentially it's all persons working together around the table plus also taking turns at being on the table experiencing both sides of the story and as a result obtaining noticeable benefits such as feeling more energized, relaxed, connected, balanced, able to sleep better or even having actual physical and or emotional issues removed or positively modified thereby acquiring something of lasting value from the sessions.

However results usually manifest gradually in a subtle manner accumulating over time meaning there are unlikely to be any sudden dramatic things occurring though the after effects from energy share meetings can be quite pleasant.

Consider this analogy:

A musician is able to create pleasant sound (some at least) though confined to using one instrument at a time. With an orchestra there are many musicians playing different instruments and not necessarily the same notes however when arranged and combined the volume of sound and final result the actual music itself is huge compared to a single person using one instrument.

Same principle applies to energy and healing.

Whilst a small group is not an orchestra it's potential and capacity for attracting and manipulating energy is far greater than persons acting alone.

What actually happens:

Meetings are usually from two to two and a half hours though sometimes up to three hours or even longer depending on numbers and circumstances on the day.

The usual procedure is that persons around the table rotate - change positions after being at one of four possible positions (head, feet, right side, left side) though there is no fixed routine and it's worked out intuitively on the go each session.

There is also a choice ..... face up or face down on the table or a mixture of both. Face down works great providing opportunities of access to backs not possible face up.

An informal lounge area is located outside the rooms where it's possible to have a lie down after being on the table if that's your wish or as a conversation area to relax and have a discussion before or after the activities.

Things you should know about meetings:

A donation of $10 is necessary to help cover the cost of venue hire, insurance and Meetup site fees.

There are no eftpos or credit card facilities.

A choice of scented oil for your hands will be provided free of charge.

Bring along a small media player or music playing mobile phone plus earphones if you wish. Headphones are too large and bulky however small earphones wont get in the way of persons working on head areas.

If you are going to be sitting, standing or lying down for two plus hours it will get boring without some sort of distraction and or entertainment.

If everyone has a choice as to what sort of music they hear no compromises are necessary ..... you have exactly what suits your personal taste, it works for you and you will be the only person to hear it.

Bring a pair of warm socks just in case. Feet do tend to become cold whilst lying on a massage table even with a blanket over you or in what appears to be warm weather. It's better to be prepared than uncomfortable.

Pleasant scented incense is burnt during the meeting.

Soft meditation type background music can be played through room speakers however having your own  small media player and earphones would work better however the choice is yours.

Around the table you can sit or stand with chairs being available.

Reiki involves touch as does just about any modality of energy healing so there would be hands moving about very close to the body (usually several inches away is normal) or hands on so again everyone needs to be aware of and OK with that.

There are no courses, workshops, lectures, seminars, retreats or anything else being promoted or for sale.

It's Reiki where people get together to perform energy healing on each other in a small group setting.

Venue and how to get there.

Meetings are conducted at the Black Lotus Yoga Studio an easy 7-8 minutes walk from Newtown Railway Station or about 4 minutes walk from the corner of Wilford Street and Enmore Road Newtown (see map) for buses M30, 423, 426, 428 running past Railway Square Central (Stand L) which then travel along Broadway, turn left into City Road which becomes King Street past the university, then past Newtown Railway Station turning into Enmore Road after leaving Newtown Railway Station. Enmore Road near the corner of Wilford Street is the first bus stop past Newtown Station for each of the buses mentioned above.

There is also a 355 bus running to and from Bondi Junction Station Interchange every 30 minutes during the day up to about 6.30pm.

Please note that from October 2014 the bus stop at corner of Station Street and Enmore Road was removed both sides of the road (former Newtown RSL stop)

Buses from and towards the city are very frequent .... every few minutes though about every 15 minutes near 7pm.

Meetings start 4pm Sunday afternoons finishing usually between 6 - 7pm or later if required depending on circumstances on the day.

It's OK to arrive a bit early ..... after 3.45pm but not any earlier. If the outer door metal grille is closed ..... i'm not there.

The Venue is Black Lotus Yoga Studio located at the corner of Wilford and Gladstone Streets Newtown on the first floor requiring a walk up one flight of 17 steps. There is no lift. At the top of the stairs is a long rack for shoes. Please remove your shoes and store them there.

Press the buzzer for Room 2 solidly for at least a couple seconds to let me know your there.

If the door with Newtown Reiki Share Circle sign is open you can go straight upstairs.

If you arrive around 4pm there might be some parking spaces nearby though it's a risk to expect this and generally parking is difficult to find in the area. Most dwellings having no garages or driveways so occupants tend to park their vehicles on the street outside their homes.
