What we're about
The idea is to get together for weekday casual sailing on Sydney Harbour combined with the opportunity for philosophical discussion on your boat or mine.
Sydney Harbour is recognised as one of the world's great harbours yet for much of the time especially during the week days and evenings is is virtually deserted - solitude amidst a greater Sydney population of 4 million and so, an ideal place therefore for contemplation of one's navel and for that matter things naval.
My Najad 34 Anneliese II can comfortably accommodate 6-7 and is ideal for a few hours of leisurely sailing, a stop for a bite or a dip and some stimulating philosophical conversation.
There is no obligation to own your own boat, nor to have sailing skills or a degree in philosophy - just an enthusiasm for the water being fit and active, and a thirst for leaning and sharing of ideas.
We usually meet at Elizabeth Bay Marina and are transported by tender to my boat. You need to be able to step up from the tender onto my boat and on return step down onto the tender.
Please note that with the Elizabeth Bay Marina being rebuilt at the moment, we meet at D'Albora Marina, Rushcutters Bay for the tender ride. The expected date of completion of the Elizabeth Bay Marina is March 2018.
For new members, please ensure that you have a photo of yourself on your profile or if not can provide one to me for identification purposes.
