What we'll do

On May 23 we’ll be celebrating 8 years of ProductTank - we're excited to welcome Sylvia Ng and Jeremy Bailey to Mind the Product's first ever World Product Day (!

Topic: Stop Looking for Silver Bullets. Product Growth is a Process, not a Guessing Game
Speaker: Sylvia Ng, Product Operations, Shopify

As a product professional, your company is looking to you to meaningfully change the bottom line. But are you getting the results you want? Or are you putting in countless hours only to feel like you’re not making enough progress? If you want to seriously develop a Product Growth competency, how do you ensure success instead of just haphazardly launching new products and features? Sylvia will share her 8 step framework for Product Growth developed from being part of teams at Google, eBay, and 500px to show you how to meaningfully scale your company.

Sylvia is a product and growth professional with a passion for using the intersection of data, engineering, and marketing to fuel business results. Sylvia heads up Product Operations for Shopify's Channel products, and was recently VP of Product at 500px. She's held past roles at Google, eBay, OANDA, and ScribbleLive, and has a Masters in Predictive Analytics from Northwestern University.

Topic: Inclusivity — Talking up in UX
Speaker: Jeremy Bailey, Creative Director of Product, FreshBooks

Jeremy believes in building empathy into every product - there is no "wrong" customer - and will discuss how he put the customer first with a participatory design process.

Jeremy Bailey is Creative Director at FreshBooks and sometimes self-proclaimed “Famous New Media Artist” at large. Bailey believes that technology done right empowers us all to be famous. As creative director at FreshBooks he leads a growing product design team helping millions of small business owners succeed without ever having to learn accounting. As an artist he has performed and exhibited all over the world, from bathrooms in buffalo to museums in moscow.
