You will improve your breathing by increasing lung capacity and your heart rate will slow, yet you can still work up a sweat. Tai Chi Chuan improves the fighting ability of martial artists by teaching them how to deal with oncoming force, how to balance their body for maximum energy output, and to achieve an external softness while maintaining an internal hardness. Classes Our classes consist of warm ups, standing post exercises, push hands, and forms. Our forms include the Beijing 24, Long Fist Yang style 24, Long Fist Yang style 108, Yang style 42, Sun style Tai Chi for Arthritis. Saturdays 9-10 am.     Earth Qigong This term as it gets hotter outside and drier we will focus to nourish the water and earth segments of our 5 Elements. The following Qigong will be taught: Big Dipper (Seven Stars) open major joints of body maintain flexibility Deer Walk - Moves Qi and into abdominal area and lower back, supports JingQi (water) (reproductive organs) Sun, Moon and Stars (metal) - to aid the digestive system and triple burner Crane Dance - fire (opens hip joints, refreshes lungs, and stimulates kwa) Dragon & Phoenix (wood) - liver Cultivate Earth Enegy (earth) - facilitate macrocosmic orbit We will also do Neigong to cultivate Qi flow in the organs using simplified Guigen and smiling practice, as well as maintain- Taichi Fan for balance and agility. $75 for a block of 5 classes., $15 for seniors, students.
