What we're about

SHE Choir is a vibrant collaborative choir community for all who identify as women.

There are currently SHE Choirs in London, Manchester, Newcastle, Berlin and Melbourne - and Auckland is the newest one! Find out more about the choir network here: http://shechoir.com/

If you'd like to be part of a non-auditioned (no experience necessary!), fun, brand new choir, this is the group for you.

We rehearse on Tuesdays 6.30-7.30pm @ The Open Book on Ponsonby Rd. Singing original arrangements of pop, rock, indie, r&b and more, each SHE Choir is run by its members and represents a space to build your creativity and confidence (as well as make some lovely new friends).

We're aspiring to grow collaboratively, with members as involved in the various aspects of running the choir – musically, administratively, socially – as you wish. If you'd just like to come along and sing, that's great too.

Come and sing with us!

The Open Book

Join us for a fun, informal, no-singing-experience-necessary rehearsal of SHE Choir Auckland!

*** Please note - we still use Meetup to find new faces but we're not very active on here. Feel free to join our Facebook group to keep up with the latest [https://www.facebook.com/groups/288256465007081]

On a standard Tuesday you'll find us at The Open Book on Ponsonby Rd - a lovely secondhand bookshop with a handy piano. They are kindly letting us rehearse there for free but a koha is appreciated.

We rehearse from[masked]pm and there's no need to do or prepare anything in advance - just show up, we're a friendly bunch and there are normally new people every week.

We're open to all women and non-binary people.

*** Please note another thing - we only rehearse at LEVEL 1 so don't rock up if Jacinda and Ashley haven't given the all-clear. This is because singing is a higher-risk activity, what with the droplets and all.

Looking forward to singing with you soon!

A bit about SHE Choir

SHE Choir is a vibrant collaborative choir community singing everything from Destiny's Child to Fleetwood Mac and Whitney Houston to The Beths. We encourage members to get involved wherever they feel comfortable, whether that's leading a warm-up, teaching an arrangement or organising a pub visit.

We don't tend to sing from sheet music, but we do provide words for songs.

There are currently SHE Choirs in London, Manchester, Newcastle, Berlin, Birmingham, Brighton and Frankfurt! The SHE stands for the original founders - Susie, Hannah and Ellie.
