What we're about

Hello and welcome to Socrates Cafe Melbourne.

Socrates Café is a communal gathering where people from all walks of life get together and exchange thoughtful ideas and experiences with the aim of learning from each other, and to delve deeper into a particular topic.

The idea for Socrates Cafe was started by Christopher Phillips, in America, and there are hundreds of Socrates Cafes around the world today.

It is a respectful and welcoming forum for self expression and learning.

All you need to bring is an open and inquisitive mind.

There is a small financial contribution that is made on the day, to cover the costs of meetup.com monthly fee, and the library room hire. It ranges from $2 to $4 per person, depending on how many people come on the day.

See you there,
