What we'll do
Interested in building greater ties across our community and ensuring we keep building upon what we already have here?
Then come along and get involved - Friday 2nd June 5:30-7:30pm and Saturday 3rd June 7:30am - 5pm @ iNQ, Little Fletcher Street, Townsville Central (Opposite Hog’s Breath Café).
The World Health Organisation’s age-friendly approach is an inclusive and accessible strategy to improve the lives of all people, regardless of age. This hackathon is all about creating an age-friendly community by bringing together: entrepreneurs, creatives, the aged, carers, tech and others to collaborate on and develop diverse ideas, understand perspectives and deliver solutions that benefit our community.
We’d like to focus on priority areas of: transport, housing, outdoor spaces and social participation in the age-friendly context, but those aren’t the limits.
Prizes will be awarded after solutions are judged on Saturday afternoon and we’d like to feed those ideas into the Advancing Queensland: Age Friendly Community grants program to help make them a reality.
The event is free, with light meals and drinks provided throughout the event - we need your input to make this work. Come and join us, bring your energy, ideas and skills together with an open approach and have a great time making our community a better place to live for all.
