What we'll do
This is a joint event with Sydney Bushwalking Group and Newcastle Bushwalks & Getaways.
NORTH WEST 4 DAY ROAD TRIP. To avoid driving long distances every day, we have now booked a motel at Gunnedah for 3 nights. This will allow us to do day trips to Coonabarabran, the Warrumbungles, Narrabri, Mount Kaputar and return to Gunnedah each night. We will then return to Newcastle via Scone and the Hunter Valley.
SIGHT-SEEING. You will see lots of birds, kangaroos, mountains and bush. You will also see beautiful white cotton crops and and orange sorghum crops. The Warrumbungle Mountains views are absolutely fabulous. We will also visit Sawn Rocks in the Nandewar Ranges, about 25km north east of Narrabri.
BUSHWALKING. We will go for a 10km bushwalk at Coonabarabran, 5km bushwalk at Mount Kaputar near Narrabri and a 3km bushwalk at Burning Mountain near Scone. The Warrumbungles bushwalk is a steep "medium to hard" difficulty 10km walk that will take us about 4 hours, but it is possible to do shorter bushwalks.
EASTER HOLIDAY COST. By staying at Gunnedah for 3 nights, we can reduce the price from $475 to $395 per person, which includes 3 nights twin share or triple share motel accommodation, 4 days minibus hire, fuel, extra kilometres and vehicle insurance. ( Single rooms plus $150 = $545.)
PAYMENT. Please pay Chris $395 by the 31st January to confirm your accommodation and seat on the minibus.
