What we'll do

Please note that RSVP will close 24 hrs before the start of the walk. This is the leader's risk management strategy. Please do not send messages to the leader to request to join the walk. There is always the next one. :)

We are meeting at Birkenhead Point Factory Outlet Centre on Ground Floor outside Coles Supermarket. This is an easy leisure 7m walk suitable for beginners wanting to start an active lifestyle. We'll begin from Birkenhead Outlet Centre and walk along the harbourside across the Iron Cove Bridge. We will head South-West along Henley Marine Drive and follow the entire natural course of the cove. There are a few local parks on our way: Timbrell Park, Robsin Park, Leichhardt Park Aquatic Centre, Callan Park and King George Park. Most of the path is flat and very scenic. Here is a link to the entire track:

Please bring at least 1 liter of drinking water, wear comfortable clothing and walking shoes. There are toilet facilities along the route. We'll try to walk at an average speed of 4 km/hr to ensure good workout for the body. If you are slow and position at the end of the group, just make sure you can see a fellow SBG member in front of you. If not, please shout to get attention of those ahead to alert the leader to take a short break. We want everyone to enjoy walking in the company of other walkers. If you feel like joining the group for lunch, I'll take you to the best coffee (quality and value) at Birkenhead Point Outlet Centre :)
