What we'll do

Please note that you'll have to sign up on here and register at the following Eventbrite link to secure a ticket: http://bit.ly/jsroundabout10 Delighted to announce that our 10th instalment of the JS Roundabout will take place at Secret Escapes' Holborn-based offices. To coincide with International Women's Day on March 8th, we have put together an all-female line up of excellent speakers.

We will be hearing from Elianne Schutze of Trainline; and Sara Vieira of YLD who will be doing a joint talk entitled 'The Tools You Are Using Are Wrong'. This talk will provide a deep analysis and comparison of various tools and frameworks in the JavaScript world. We'll then dive into a talk by Amanda Cavallaro, who is a Software Developer at online resolution service; Resolver. Amanda will talk about a simple game she built using HTML, CSS, and React for the first international conference of girls and women in technology; to encourage them to grasp the concepts of programming and be able to work with some of the HTML tags and seeing their changes in real time. This talk is especially aimed at beginners as Amanda will share each step she took while building the application, the struggles, the important concepts of React and the final project version 1 in action.

Finally we will hear from Alexandra Hill of Imperial College London, who will be giving a talk on Code Reviews. Code reviews are one of the most effective tools we have, if we use them right. This talk will discuss the technical, cultural and psychological factors that make for better code reviews, better code, and happier coworkers.

Pizza and beer/wine/soft drinks will be provided as usual - look forward to seeing you all there!
