What we're about

This group is for anyone interested in gaining and sharing practical knowledge of User Experience Design.

We are all in the exciting "Digital" era (who knew we'd been Analogue all this time) as more & more mobile and other device types hit the market, and user interfaces continue to evolve to cater for user's increasing expectations and needs...

This group will allow us to get together to discuss what is happening now, as well as the future and where all this is heading.

We are all creative, passionate and possibly a tad non-compliant (pushing boundaries etc)... so, let's meet each other and solve the world's UX problems :)

NOTE there are also heaps of great UX groups and Related Software Development meet-ups available - here are some others you might be interested in joining:

Making the career jump - from "X" to "UX"

Location visible to members

Many of our members are looking to move into UX from all sorts of different professions. We field a lot of questions about how they can best "make the jump" without having to start from scratch. In this session we will hear stories from about journeys into (or towards) a career in UX. If you would like to share your story, or know anyone else that might, please send the organiser a message.

Dr. Chris Grainger: Putting humans first in AI-first design

Location visible to members

Recent advances in AI have garnered plenty of attention and excitement (hype?), with machine learning finding its way into more and more aspects of how we live and work. In this rapidly developing AI-first world, design is more important than ever. The interaction between human and AI requires creative and conscientious design to be both useful and ethical. As an AI-first startup, Amplified builds product by putting humans first in our design. In this talk, I'll explain how we align machine and human intelligence to empower both and solve big societal challenges.
