    Ellerslie Tennis Club

    • What we'll do Round robin doubles tournament. No need to bring a partner as pairings change each match to keep things interesting. Pairings chosen to give even games amongst people of similar ability (where possible). This means participants can be of any level as long as they are able to hit the ball over the net more often than not. • What to bring Bring a racquet and your enthusiasm. • Important to know Entry $5 for the day. This goes to the host club to cover balls and the cost of refreshments. Participants free to come or go any time during the event as games are organised with whoever is ready to play.

  • ULTRAclub Singles Event

    Fairholme Tennis Club

Singles tournament, run in same style as the ULTRAclub doubles tournament. Main difference is this time you may (unsurprisingly) notice half the number of people on the court! 🙄 As with the doubles version, scoring will be a count of points won, but this time to speed up turn over it will be out of a total of 20 points (40 points in the doubles). Each player will have a turn serving 5 times, then they swap ends and repeat. This should mean each match takes 10-15 minutes. After playing the match, players come off and pick another opponent of similar ability to play when their turn comes around again. Matches won't be separated by gender. This should offer much greater variety of opponent and style. However there will be a separate ladder for men and ladies. People are free to come and go during the day as matches are spontaneously created out of whoever is present. No entry cost but donations appreciated (thinking $2-$3) to go towards balls and snacks / drinks. (Players who are members of a UTA club are already covered.)
