Offering alms to monks.
Hello fellow vipassies, I will be offering alms to monks at the BSV(Buddhist Society of Victoria) on the 18th of July.I usually offer alms every Wednesday. Offering alms to monks is a good supporting practise for your meditation and also helps to support the sanga. It's also a good opportunity to ask the monks any dhamma questions you have and meet fellow dhamma friends. What should i bring to offer? Feel free to bring any fresh and nutritious food. Please try to not bring food that is highly spiced and contains coconut for it doesn't agree well with Venerable Katapunno (who is the monk currently residing at bsv). What time should i be there? Please be at the BSV by 10.30am. A few things to keep in mind. -Please come dressed modestly. -Please behave respectfully while at the BSV. There is parking available at the site, if you are coming here by public transport, there is tram stop close by. If you have any questions feel free to sms me on[masked], please include your name in the sms.For any additional information visit the BSV website http://bsv.net.au/ hope to see you there :)

What we're about

This is a social Meetup group for anyone who does, has done or is interested in Vipassana Meditation. It is intended for people to meet up and share their experiences of practicing Vipassana or anything else. We will be meeting once or twice a month in the inner suburbs or CBD. There are social gatherings as well as group meditation sittings. Those who haven't attended a Vipassana course are welcome to join us for social gatherings but the group meditations are available for experienced Vipassana meditators only.
