What we're about
The Anxiety Recovery Centre (ARCVic) is a state-wide not for profit organisation that aims to ensure that all Victorians living with anxiety disorders have access to high quality community support and self help services.
Our Social & Support Groups have been running for many years and are open to anyone living with an anxiety disorder (including Obsessive Compulsive, Generalised, Social Anxiety/Shyness, Panic, Agoraphobia, Trichotillomania/Hair Pulling, Hoarding, specific Phobias, PTS, etc). Family members and carers are also welcome.
Many people living with anxiety disorders feel isolated and alone in their experience so it can be validating and reconnecting to meet with others who may share similar experiences and feelings while bringing some fun into our days!
Our regular ongoing Self Help Support Groups hold meetings around Melbourne and in regional Victoria, including Ascot Vale, Bentleigh, Boronia (Generalised Anxiety Disorder), Eltham, Glen Waverley, Geelong, Fotoscray, Hawthorn, Surrey Hills, Mt Beauty, South Yarra, Templestowe, Taylors Lakes/Melton, and more to come soon.
There are also specific support groups for Trichotillomania/Hair Pulling and Social Anxiety/Shyness in Surrey Hills and a Sunday group; Post Traumatic Stress in South Yarra; Gay Men's in Carlton, Generalised Anxiety in Boronia; Women who experience childhood Truama, Mindfulness, OCD Transgender/Gender Diverse in Carlton and Tricho in Surrey Hills, Perth and Adelaide. We have other members that come to our groups who aren't on our Meetup site so the numbers of members attending shown on here are not indicative of how many actually come.
We look forward to meeting you soon. :-)
