PADDLE NOW FULL, WAIT LIST OPEN. This expansive waterway is the best kayaking location immediately north of Sydney. We'll launch from Lions Park in Woy Woy and make our way to lovely Waterfall Bay - only accessible by kayak. It's bush to the waters edge and we stop at a picturesque spot in the National Park for morning tea and a dip. Then across to the western shore, where you can decide which home you'll buy when you win the lottery! Then we head east, under the railway/road bridge, to our secret lunch location. It's on an island with a glorious west-facing beach. Really unusual on the east coast of Australia. The sun streams down, we picnic under some trees and lap up the view across the water to Gosford. Very relaxing. No one ever wants to leave but we will, because half an hour away along the canals is an island devoted entirely to pelicans! A great day. Suitable for paddlers of all experience levels. You can catch the train to Woy Woy. The drive from Sydney is easy and quick. About an hour, depending on where you live. We'll be using our fleet of Barracuda AR Duos. Superb sit in kayaks with good stability, comfy seats and rudders to make steering easy. Beyond the Roseville Bridge lie the remnants of a huge cedar forest. Over a century ago the logs were harvested and dragged by horse to The Cascades in what is now Garigal National Park, where there was a dam with a timber floodgate. The logs were washed down Middle Harbour Creek and loaded onto barges destined for central Sydney at a point close to the Roseville Bridge. The Cascades in now a beautiful bush hideaway with swimming in what was the dam and a lovely picnic area. A really special place that not many people know about. We'll meet at Davidson Park (easy to access by public transport and there's plenty of parking). Our quality Barracuda AR Duo kayaks will be delivered there on a trailer and we'll paddle upstream to the start of the walk through the bush to The Cascades. An hour of paddling each way and an hour of walking each way on a level, defined track. DON'T MISS THIS OPPORTUNITY TO EXPERIENCE A BEAUTIFUL PART OF SYDNEY KNOWN TO FEW PEOPLE. Grade is Easy/Medium, which means it's suitable for people of average fitness. Kayak hire $98 per person, no other costs. Only 8 places remain so get in quickly.
