"Eleanor Oliphant Is Completely Fine" - October 2018 book club
"Eleanor Oliphant Is Completely Fine" by Gail Honeyman was the clear winner in our poll for our next meeting. Here is an introduction from Goodreads: No one’s ever told Eleanor that life should be better than fine. Meet Eleanor Oliphant: She struggles with appropriate social skills and tends to say exactly what she’s thinking. Nothing is missing in her carefully timetabled life of avoiding social interactions, where weekends are punctuated by frozen pizza, vodka, and phone chats with Mummy. But everything changes when Eleanor meets Raymond, the bumbling and deeply unhygienic IT guy from her office. Please bring a gold coin donation to help with the meetup running costs. • Important to know Food and drinks are available at the bar. Please let me know if you are running late or unable to make it. I am making note of "no shows" as other participants miss out on a spot and it's unfair.

    What we're about

    Hey BookClubbers,

We meet monthly at the Flying Duck to discuss our monthly book. The meetings are informal, friendly and food and drink are available at the bar.

We take a vote on our monthly book at the end of each meeting and then it is up to each member to read the book before the next meeting.

The meetings are held in the Duck Room at the Flying Duck hotel and there is plenty of opportunity to get food and drinks.

Be prepared to socialise and meet new people. Bring a friendly attitude and be ready for lots of positive discussion.
