Details
TYPE: Urban Hike | PACE: Fitness | TERRAIN: Sidewalks, Multi-Use Paths, Dirt Trails | DISTANCE: Approx 7 miles
Walk Description: We did it! This mini-loop is the last of the seven (or eight) urban hikes that incorporate parts of the Walk 360, a 26-mile urban hiking route around the periphery of the city. Come celebrate the holiday season as we close the big loop with the South Urban Hike, beginning and ending at the Neptune Mountaineering Cafe in the Table Mesa Shopping Center. The Neptune Cafe opens at 8:00 am, so arrive early to get breakfast, use the restroom and fill water bottles. This map illustrates all of the mini-loop routes (the route for this hike is in red): https://caltopo.com/m/1SU2
Schedule and Planning: We will meet at 9 am in front of Neptune Mountaineering Cafe, which is located off Broadway on the northeast side of the Table Mesa Shopping Center. RTD's Skip bus serves Broadway and is the best way to get to the shopping center. You can park in the shopping center lot or on Amer Ave. or Toedtli Dr. This urban hike is about 7 miles, so it should take us about 2.5 hours to complete.
