Walk Historic Venice Neighborhood
Details
Get some exercise and culture before Turkey Day. This walk of approximately 1.5 miles takes in a neighborhood of Mediterranean Revival style homes built in the late 1920s by The Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers (BLE) and is a companion to the downtown Venice walk of commerical buildings. Notable people who contributed to the early devlopment of Venice include Bertha Palmer and her family, Dr. Fred Albee, John Nolen and Prentiss French. I'll give a short history of Venice before the walk.
The tour will include two parks, 24 homes and a visit to The Venice Museum (Venicemuseum.org) after the walk.
