OLD MILLS TRAIL ALONG THE RIVANNA - DOGGIES WELCOME - 5 MILES
Details
We will hike along the Rivanna River, opposite the Woolen Mills, past remnants of an 1830's canal, turn-around basin and locks, where we will pause for a look near the history reader board.
Meet in the LOWER parking lot at Darden-Towe Park, on the banks of the Rivanna River. (Note: NOT on the upper grounds at the ballpark.) Look for my red KIA SUV. Parking can be very tight, so allow a little extra time. It's okay to park alongside the road, if the lot is full.
Please bring water. Poles are handy for part of the trail. There are no restroom facilities.
OPTIONAL AFTERS: the outdoor patio at Maple Pine Thai Restaurant or the Golden Parrot on Pantops for sustenance.
