Hike Dragon Country, Exploring King Edmund's the Stour Valley

Details
Hiking deep into Dedham Vale, once an area governed by King Edmond of Anglia, runs the River Stour winding through surprisingly hilly terrain with rewarding pretty vistas across valleys, hills, meadows, and small villages rich with architecture and history.
Legend has it that a fierce dragon, with a crested head and razor-like teeth used to terrorise the surrounding villages, breathing fire at anything that moved and even killing a shepherd and his flock.
We hike the St Edmunds Way through the medieval villages of Wormingford and Bures St Mary, passing St Stephens Chapel where St Edmund was crowned King of East Anglia in 855AD. The walk winds along the valley, following ancient waterways and tributaries and meadows returning to Bures St Mary where you are welcome to join us for a drink and some food or take the train home.
