Furman University 10 KM/6.2 Mile Walking Tour

Details
Let's explore the Furman University campus before they get classes going for the Fall Semester! It was some time ago on this walk that I saw a turtle alongside the Swamp Rabbit Trail laying eggs! What might we see this time?
We will meet at a parking lot with a single train engine. Sights include the Furman University Walking Trail, the Morgan Meditation Garden, the Old Cottage, the Asia Garden, the Janie Earle Furman Rose Garden, a lake, the Cherry Dale Alumni Center, the DeSantis Pavilion, Palladian Stadium, a WW2 Memorial, the Furman Mall with the Duke Library, the Golden Reunion Plaza, McAllister Auditorium, the Thomas Anderson Roe Art Building, Estridge Commons, Duke's Energy Village, and more!
The walk will start at 9:00 a.m. at the water fountain next to the train. If you are using GPS put in 2004 County Road 170. The parking lot where you will find the train car is just to the west of there on the other side of the Swamp Rabbit Trail road crossing.
Dress appropriately for the weather. It is likely to be hot, so consider a hat and sunscreen. Bring plenty of water and a protein snack. Tennis shoes are fine. The walk is not particularly hilly, but some might want one walking stick. Wheelchairs are not recommended. Trail strollers should work ok. Dogs are ok for the most part, but I suspect would not be so welcome in the gardens.
