CT Appalachian Trail (SB): River Road to Bulls Bridge (@13 miles)

Details

Please Read the Entire Description!

Shuttle required! Everyone must participate. You must be willing to either shuttle hikers to the start or take drivers back to their cars. Everyone must meet at the endpoint. Parking is limited at the starting point. We will shuttle to the start in as few cars as possible. Shuttle time is @17 minutes. We will be starting early to beat the heat.

I’ve hiked all of the Appalachian Trail between Lehigh Gap and the Hudson. I would like to start moving east of the Hudson toward Connecticut. Please join me! We will meet at the parking lot at Bulls Bridge and then shuttle to the start on River Road.

NO SWEEP! Self-sufficient hikers only. Not a beginner hike. You should have completed hikes of similar distance and gain in the past and be confident in your ability to finish. You must be able to navigate on your own should you become separated from the group. Faster hikers are not obligated to wait for slower hikers.

NOTE: You should be able to follow a map, understand possible bailouts, and must be realistic in your assessment of your own abilities and be prepared to hike alone.

NOTE: You are responsible for bringing appropriate gear, supplies, clothing, first aid, and lights. You should review topographic maps and trail features carefully; understanding topography of any hike is key to your knowing where you are, where you're going, and how to get back.
