Join us for an autumn walk along the Assabet River to the Crow Island Airpark!

We’ll meet in the Stow Parking lot below

and follow the scenic rail trail along the Assabet River for approximately 1 mile to the Airpark. The trail is a very wide and groomed dirt path—mostly level with some of the usual irregularities.

For over 30 years, Crow Island Airpark has been a hotbed for pilots flying a variety of unique aircraft and flying contraptions including ultralights, trikes, vintage taildraggers, seaplanes, hang gliders, powered paragliders, powered parachutes, and more.

MEET: We’ll meet in parking lot in the junction of White Pond Trl and Taylor Road in Stow. Follow the Google map above. When you get on to Rout 62, turn to Hastings Street, go all the way to the end, and turn left to White Pond Road. Keep going and pass the rail trail, you see a gate and the parking lot on the right. There is a bathroom at the parking lot.

Remember to turn on Hastings Street on Rd 62.

Please arrive on time as parking spot is limited. We’ll begin intros at 10 am and take off 10:10.

BRING: Sunscreen, bug spray, cash for buffet donation (if you choose to eat/drink)

PETS: Please leave your pets at home. The Airpark owners' dogs are on the property, and as guests we ask all to be respectful of the owners’ pets. If you do not like or are fearful of dogs, you may want to consider skipping this event.

Group rules:

  • You must be signed up to attend the event. Don't just show up!
  • Event attendees must be 18 or older.
  • Only sign up for events if you intend to show up.
  • Wear sturdy footwear and bring plenty of water.
  • You assume all risks when participating. All participants must obey all instructions, rules, and regulations.
  • Group leaders are volunteers and are not liable for any harm or injury.
  • Feel free to bring a friend, but make sure they first join the group and sign up for the event.
  • Come on time. We will take off about 10 minutes past the starting time.
  • If you sign up for an event but will not be attending, change your response ASAP so that others can attend and we are not waiting for you.
  • Check Meetup for cancelations and changes in meeting times and locations before each event.
  • Spread out and stay on the right side of the trails to avoid safety concerns.
  • Be kind to each other.
  • Do not feed the bears.
