What we’re about
Welcome to the Melbourne River Sangha, a Thich Nhat Hanh Mindfulness Community.
This is a group for anyone interested in practicing mindfulness in the tradition of Thich Nhat Hanh, or anyone interested in learning the art of mindful living.
We meet every week to support each other in our practice of mindfulness. Our activities vary a little each week but always include sitting meditation, indoor slow walking meditation, deep relaxation, touching the Earth, study and practice 5 mindfulness training, read and study a suttra, and watching a short talk by the Teachers. We also include tea meditation, singing meditation and enjoy a sharing with the community.
Our community often participate in the activities of Plumvillage Australia and we also provide financial dana to the Monasteries.
The Co-founder and facilitator is Harry Huy Nguyen (Brother Mountain).
Brother Mountain is an Order of Interbeing (OI) brother in the Plum Village tradition and was ordained in 2002 with Dharma name True Joyful Mountain given by Thay.
