Critique and Review Meeting

Old Town Library

Hello Fellow Writers and Conversationalists! We are meeting weekly at the Old Town Library, 6:30 pm every Thursday. We encourage new writers to show up, even unannounced. Introduce yourself, get a feel for others in attendance, see if you are comfortable. If you find you want to participate, you will be more than welcome to join. There are times of the year when demands of participation are greater than we can accommodate. But that changes throughout the year. The rules are simple. Bring[masked] words with you and 5 or 6 copies. At the meeting we will go around the table. We can read some of the pieces aloud. Others who have been in group awhile can share their works ahead of time on a Google Drive and may only need feedback. And if someone hasnt read the material, we just move on. They can pick it up that week and offer feedback one on one. You also dont have to bring writing to participate! We want to try to make everyone comfortable and keep things moving forward without sending people home with homework. If you see no one RSVP'd for the evening, the meeting is considered cancelled. Hope to see you there.

Saturday (SUNDAY) Six Challenge

Daz Bog Coffee

Hello all, Are you up for the challenge? The premise is simple. Meet on Sunday at 9:00 a.m., a writing prompt will be given, and each participant cranks out six hundred words in two hours to form a complete story with a beginning, middle and end. We'll spend the last hour reading the work. No critiques just positive reinforcement. We will vote on a winner. The criteria for winning will be on how well you stuck to the writing prompt. To be eligible to win you must write a complete short fiction piece of at least six hundred words. More is fine, fewer is not. Topic/phrase and winning criteria will be announced at the meeting. Hope to see you there!! -Kari
