B+ High Level Beach (Sand) Volleyball at Merritt Park - Marietta

This event for The B+ level players. Coed Adults only (18 +)

Specific expectations for B+ level beach volleyball players:

• Fundamentals & Consistency:
  Players should have a foundational understanding of all basic volleyball skills and be able to execute them with some degree of consistency, although not always with perfect accuracy or power.
• Serving:
  Overhand serves should be consistent, with the ability to target specific areas of the court.
• Passing:
  Passing to the setter should be accurate, though perfect placement might still be a challenge.
• Setting:
  Hand sets should not be double-hit, and bump sets should be directed to the intended hitter. No open hand setting on the first and third ball
• Hitting:
  Players should be able to hit the ball in bounds, but power and precision might still be developing. They should understand basic hitting mechanics but may need to refine timing.
• Positioning & Movement:
  Players are expected to stay in their designated positions and understand basic blocking and hitting approaches, even if execution isn't perfect.
• Communication & Strategy:
  While not expected to be as fluent as higher-level players, B+ players should understand basic rotational systems and be able to make basic tactical adjustments, such as switching blocking calls or recovering from a block by digging.

#### Play Rules

• Let serves are allowed
• No open-hand tips (clean pokes, knuckles, or rolls are allowed)
• Sets must be clean (no double contact); spin judged more strictly on serve receive and setting over the net
• No lifts or prolonged contact
• Hand setting over the net must be square to the shoulders
• Block counts as a touch (in 2s)
• Antennas, poles, and boundary lines are out of play

#### Conduct & Safety

• Good sportsmanship is expected at all times
• Disputes resolved by mutual agreement
• No alcohol or glass on the court
• Hydration and sunscreen encouraged – it’s a long day!
  Other Considerations
• If you have RSVP and cannot make it please update RSVP ASAP. No Show on RSVP may be disqualify you on the next event
• Only RSVP players will play, if you are on the waiting list please do not come to event unless you get notified by Organizer
• Please try to arrive 15 Min early if you are a new player
• If you have official Wilson Optx ball please bring it
