What we'll do
"Conversation is a meeting of minds with different memories and habits. When two minds meet, they don't just exchange facts: they transform them, reshape them, draw different implications from them, and engage in new trains of thought. Conversation doesn't just reshuffle the cards: it creates new cards."
Theodore Zeldin (b. 1933) Historian & Author
You are invited to sit down at a table across from (potentially!) complete strangers, and are each handed a dinner menu. It lists courses from Entrees, Main Meals, to Desserts - but instead of culinary dishes the menu proposes topics of conversation related to the world of Knowledge Management.
The conversation menu presents an array of stimulating, thought-provoking topics covering a wide range of Knowledge Management topics.
You and your dinner partners, your ‘muses,’ are ready to discuss and explore each of these questions throughout the meal at your own pace - it depends on mutual open-mindedness and willingness to share. By the end of the meal, you may have gotten to know a stranger very well, and developed new ideas and perceptions around different elements of Knowledge Management. Perhaps even co-created something innovative!
Whether you believe you have something to share or something to learn - open conversations are always mutually beneficial where everyone walks away with some new knowledge.
This is the gist of a Conversation Dinner, a concept conceived by a man named Theodore Zeldin from The Oxford Muse Foundation. https://www.oxfordmuse.com/?q=conversation-dinners#conversation-menu
