Lake Nockamixon Kayaking and SUP Paddle Event

We will have a fun and leisurely paddle on the cool blue waters of beautiful Lake Nockamixon in Bucks County to beat the heat.

We will meet at 9:30 at Lot 1 (overflow parking at nearby lot 2) to allow enough time to put on sunscreen, get our vessels off our roof racks or blown up for those with inflatables, over to the water's edge and have introductions and a brief instruction of where we'll be paddling.

There are kayak, canoe & SUP rentals a quick 3 to 4 minute walk north of our meeting area. I have no information on pricing or availability. Please contact the park directly for info, and arrive early if you intend to rent.

The Lake is managed by the PA DCNR (Department of Conservation of Natural Resources) and both Kayaks & SUPs require a DCNR Launch Permit, or a PFBC (Pennsylvania Fish & Boat Commission) Launch Permit or a Boat Registration (any State). The Launch permit cost is $12/yr or $24/2yrs and can be purchased directly from the PFBC or DCNR website or the Park Office (1/2 mile from meeting location; opens 8:15 Saturdays) as well as numerous local sporting goods and boating stores or even local AAA stores.

PFDs (Personal Floatation Devices) aka. Lifejackets, etc. must be present on your vessel (you don't necessarily need to wear them, but must have one for each person on your vessel.)

Good idea to also bring:
Sunscreen (sun has a doubling effect from the sky & reflected off the water), Water shoes, Wide brim hat with a chin strap, Dry bag, waterproof phone case, zip lock bag(s), and water bottles.
And don't forget your Oar(s).

Fair weather or light rain, the event occurs; heavy rain, wind or lightning cancels the event.

There will be a picnic/cookout at the same location at 1:00. You can attend both or either event, but please RSVP for each event separately; do not mention in the comments section in one that you're attending the other as this will surely throw off the head count as people add and drop.
