What we'll do
ENROLMENTS NOW OPEN ... TERM THREE 2019 CLASSES
27/7/19 - 28/09/19 .. Tuition Only $30pw or $250 prepaid for the term (10 Classes) ... with Materials $5 extra pw
Classes limited to 10 people
The class is designed to suit all ability levels from those who have never painted before to those who are more experienced.
1. STUDIO ADDRESS
The studio is located in central South Perth just two minutes from the Perth Zoo. The address/parking info/other details are sent out to first timers on Thursday of each week after the RSVPs have been confirmed/updated on the Wednesday.
2. ARRIVAL: FIRST CLASS ... PLEASE COME 15 MINS EARLY AT 1.45PM so that I can run through a few basic steps before the rest of the class arrives. That way you'll feel settled and comfortable to work on your own for a bit whilst I make my rounds.
Although this is technically a 2.0 hour [masked]) class we tend to run overtime most weeks ...I'm happy to stay on for a bit to make sure everyone has a successful experience so as long as we have finished up by 4.30pm that's fine.
So ... the cost of the class each week is really only around $10 per hour.
There are two fee options:
- Discounted fees ($25PW); pre-paid for the whole term at the first class
- Regular fees ($30PW); pay as you go
Either option comes with or without materials being included (i.e. you can use your own paints and pay less ... or use mine for a little more).
Using mine is an affordable way to get started painting and then buy your own painting supplies a few at a time.
Discounted Fees Rate (best option)
TERM THREE 2019 = 10 WEEKS
$250/term (tuition only) or $300/term (tuition and materials)
For those who commence week one and pay for the whole term before or at their week one class, offers significant savings on the usual cost
BUT ... PLEASE NOTE: MISSED CLASSES ARE NON REFUNDABLE FOR THOSE WHO HAVE PRE-PAID AT DISCOUNT FEES RATE.
When you book in as a whole term student your place in the class has been reserved exclusively for you at the discounted rate (i.e. others can't attend in your place) so whilst its fine to miss a class as necessary please keep in mind you will forfeit payment for that week - i.e. missed classes are non-refundable.
PAYING YOUR FEES:
You can pay as you go in cash (please bring correct money as I seldom have change) or if paying for the whole term's fees please simply transfer using internet banking:
Lisa Paris - ANZ South Perth
Please include your name as your payment reference and send me a message through our meetup group to let me know your fees are paid.
Irrespective of the payment option you choose, you will still need to bring your own little canvas. I recommend 10 x 12 or similar and like the Eraldo box canvas brand ... but canvas panels are fine too.
You can purchase a canvas from me for $20, or better still, why not use your membership card to buy one at Riot Art at Garden City (our sponsors). They have good quality materials and great sales on art supplies
6. PAINTING SUPPLIES
If setting up a whole paint kit from scratch...
My advice is to start with "ATELIER INTERACTIVES" acrylics and a few good brushes ... you only need a couple of brushes and half a dozen paints to begin. We can plan what you should buy at your first class if you're ready to set up your own paint set.
OUR SPONSORS - RIOT ART
RIOT OFFER 10% DISCOUNT FOR PAINTING FOR PLEASURE MEMBERS ... .... please remind me to give you your Painting for Pleasure membership card at your first class to secure the Riot Discount.
A RECOMMENDED LIST OF MATERIALS (PAINTS, BRUSHES ETC) FOLLOWS FOR THOSE USING THEIR OWN EQUIPMENT
Youll need a few supplies including A3 cartridge paper, pencils, eraser, sharpener, fixative and a sheet of graphite paper.. graphite paper is a must and will cost around $2.00 per sheet.
You'll need a set of 10 or so good quality acrylic paints (e.g. Atelier Interactive acrylics are good value - but use what you already have before spending more) ... you'll need 2 of each primary colour and a couple of others. As part of your fees if there is a colour you need and don't have Ill help out with providing this. Start with the following and then add to your kit:
* cadmium red or pyrrole red,
* alizarin or crimson red;
* cadmium yellow and yellow ochre;
* cobalt blue and pthalo blue,
* titanium white (not pearl) - no need for a black
* burnt umber and burnt sienna),
* cobalt green and pthalo green,
* cadmium orange
* purple or violet.
I recommend Atelier Interactives Acrylics - an excellent affordable brand
You will need a range of brushes from size '00' through to a 5 or 6 ... flat/square, round, filbert ... best to spend a bit more here and get a few less good brushes than to waste money at a budget shop (e.g. Bunnings - though I do love Bunnings for the garden).
