What we'll do
RHoK is a community of techies and people with associated skills helping solve problems for non-profit causes. We're Australia's leading hackathon for social good.
If you're thinking of coming along to this year's RHoK Sydney Summer Hackathon, or just want to find out what RHoK is all about then this is your chance to find out who we are, what we do and how we can all do our little bit of hacking for humanity.
We'll also be introducing our new changemakers, and giving people a chance to meet each other over a drink and some food, and begin forming their teams for the Hackathon weekend.
We'll start with pizzas and drinks at 6pm, pitches should kick off around 6:30 - don't worry if you're running late and miss a presentation, you can always ask the changemakers questions afterwards!
This years causes are:
Watch My Wilderness: Looking to enhance volunteer experience on their site to help identify & monitor land clearing activity (possibly through gamification or machine learning?) https://www.wilderness.org.au/take-action-deforestation
Take Heart Australia: Looking to enhance the internal and external usability of their website by building a new one from scratch (possibly with a free SaaS solution?) http://www.takeheartaustralia.org/
Outward bound: Looking to measure the impact and improvement of Outward Board experiences (by capturing & analysing data?)
Our big kitchen: Looking to enhance their React Native app https://www.obk.org.au/
Kembla Joggers: Looking to enhance their race time tracking system (possibly with iOT devices?) http://www.kemblajoggers.org.au/
Don't forget to RSVP for the hackathon too (https://www.meetup.com/rhok-sydney/events/243544275/)!
