(BYOB) Bonfire Under Covered Pavilion @ Gasworks Park!!! (Wallingford)

Come make a new friend while you enjoy the warmth of a bonfire!

Gasworks Park has a large parking lot that usually has tons of spaces in the winter, but the gate to the parking lot closes between 10 PM and 10:30 PM. If you plan on staying until the end, I recommend parking outside of the gate, along the street in either direction, where there should be plenty of parking.

We will clean up starting at 10 PM when the park closes. Afterwards, if folks are interested, we can go to a nearby bar like Fremont Docks!

I am not sure if or when the park gate is closed, so it may be better to park outside of the gate if you plan on staying past 10 PM. There is some street parking outside the gate.

I plan on spending about $150 for this bonfire - $110 on firewood and $40 on s'more supplies (marshmellows, graham crackers, chocolate, skewers). That cost does not include reusable gear. Please be sure to venmo me $3 to $5 after the event so that we can keep these events going! I would hold off on venmo-ing me until after the event, in case we encounter issues. My Venmo handle is @andrew-davidson-26 and my last four digits are 2150.

Please bring your own snacks, but I would recommend bringing snacks or pre-made meals that don't involve plates, utensils, or cooking over the fire pit since things can get messy really quickly.

Please bring your own alcoholic beverages! I would recommending bringing a six pack of individually-sealed bottles or cans if you plan on sharing them with others, as opposed to bottles of wine or liquor.

I will also be bringing a giant music speaker (which will be played at a reasonable volume), folding tables, some folding chairs, a bunch of trash bags, bottle openers, hand sanitizer, and paper towels.

Please put trash and ONLY trash in the giant standard plastic trash bags. There are trash bins in the park, as well as trash bags at the legs of the tables that I'm bringing; if one of them is full, use a different one. We have had repeated issues with people putting trash inside of people's non-trash bags and putting people's personal bags in the trash. Please do not assume that something is trash or is a trash bag unless it is a literal trash bag.

Anything you wear will smell like campfire the next day! I recommend bringing washable clothes.

To find us, look for the pavilion with a fire inside of it! We will also have a large white sign with the meetup logo and our name on it! It will be in front of the folding tables.
