What we'll do

Join us for an hour of writing! We’ve discovered that it’s strikingly helpful to write with other writers. See if it’s true for you at 2pm on Sunday Afternoons at Cibo Express Stirling (Shop 9, Stirling Mall, 28 Mt Barker Road, Stirling SA 5152)

Be it a book, blog, script, essay, dissertation, resume, melody, poem or just plain work stuff, you are invited to write it with us. No one will see what you've written or give you unsolicited advice. Instead of just thinking about writing, come and get some real writing done.

At this stage, sessions will be held on the second and fourth Sunday afternoon of each month from 2pm to 3pm. However, depending on demand, may be increased to weekly at a later date.

The format will be as follows:
2pm - quick intros.
2.05pm - timer starts: write for 60 minutes.
3.05pm - (the end) chat / take off / keep writing.

N.B. If you’re on a run, there’s no reason why you can’t keep writing. That’s the whole point of the process anyway. People will respect your space.

Cibo Express closes at 5pm on Sundays.

Writing is very solitary. Connecting (and sometimes even commiserating) with other writers can be very helpful.

BEING LATE IS OKAY: Just show up and get settled, then check-in with me after the session. (You’ll recognise me by my Meetup photo.)

If you were on time, please be welcoming of latecomers - I will seek to introduce them at the end of the session.

Happy writing and I look forward to seeing you at the cafe!

Whatever you need to be able to write!

Bring earbuds/earplugs if you want to block the general noise or conversation by other patrons.

It's best to arrive with a charged battery for your device, if you aren't able there may be some power points that you can use (still to be confirmed).

Cibo Express has public WiFi and arrangements can be made with staff to set you up.
