This is a great local hike in the Mt. Rose Wilderness with a nice 30 foot waterfall. The trail is about 6 miles roundtrip and has 1,200 feet of elevation gain and is rocky. I highly recommend good trail shoes and trekking poles. The hike will be led at a moderately fast pace with a lunch break at the waterfall. Be sure to bring at least 1 Liter of water, lunch or a snack, sunscreen as parts of the trail are very exposed, a hat, and good trail shoes. Well-mannered dogs are welcome but be aware that there may be rattlesnakes along the trail. Also, leashes are required on part of the trail. Please bring your Medical Waiver.
There will be a sign-in sheet and waiver at the Meet-Up location and a $1 donation is appreciated to support Great Basin Group Outings, our monthly Program Meetings (Sept.-May), and Get Kids Outdoors Grants.
