The premier of Act One of Songs of Fire, a chamber opera in Classical Hebrew, written and composed by Anna Hueneke, Sydney Conservatorium of Music, Doctor of Musical Arts, student.
A remarkable ensemble of world-class musicians, mezzo-soprano, bass-baritone, ten double bassists and two cellists, will gather to perform this unique spectral music piece inspired by Claude Vivier's Bouchara. The rhythmic resonant musical form moves through consonances and dissonances in response to the poetry of the libretto. A lament to lost love, a spiritual journey that culminates in the discovery of the creative power of fire.
