What we're about

Summerlin Social is about hanging out and having fun. Summerlin Social is for people who want to socialize in the Summerlin area--for guys and gals who are tired of driving all the way to the Strip or Henderson to enjoy the company of others. This group is for pretty much anybody who wants to join, but targeted toward those who live in the Summerlin area. We enjoy relaxed moods, doing fun activities together, and sometimes just chillin' with a drink in our hands. Join us to expand your social network and connect with like-minded individuals. Expect a whole lot of activities where we will meet and chill after strenuous days at work.

..Lend a hand.. feed less fortunate - 3rd Tuesday at LVRM - Sept. 17, 2019 - SS

************************************************************** Please maintain integrity in your RSVP. ************************************************************** The Las Vegas Rescue Mission (LVRM) provides hope and change to the homeless, addicted, and others in need. They do this through feeding the hungry, sheltering the homeless, and by offering care and support, leading to recovery, and re-entry to independent living. You can learn more from their website here: http://www.vegasrescue.org/ I have been volunteering at LVRM for a number of years. It has been and continues to be a rewarding experience for me. LVRM needs volunteers to assist with their first dinner service at 4:30 PM. You can expect to be done by 6:00 PM. The duties are described under "Volunteer Duties" below. Upon arrival, let them know at the security gate you are a kitchen volunteer. They will direct you which way to go and park. Head to the kitchen and the LVRM kitchen staff will provide you with further instructions. I will be there by 4:15 PM. Volunteer Duties: Duties will include dishing up the cuisine of the evening, filling water glasses, passing out the utensils, salt, pepper, hot sauce and helping with the clean-up in the kitchen. No past experience working in a kitchen required. Aprons, hairnets and gloves will be provided by the LVRM. If you are assigned to work the serving line, long pants are required. Please wear shoes that cover your toes. You may bring your own latex gloves. Head/hair must be covered, even if one sports a shiny bald head. You may wear a baseball cap. Otherwise, hair nets are available for you to use. Parking: When you arrive at the security gate, let the guard know you are a kitchen volunteer and they will direct you. There is plenty of secured parking on site. Please Note: When volunteering at the LVRM, all volunteers must abide by these rules of the Las Vegas Rescue Mission. Volunteers for this event are urged to dress modestly (absolutely no tank tops) and to wear closed toe shoes. Thanks for your help, if you have questions feel free to contact me. Hope to see you there!
