What we’re about
Close to Newtown train station (and also in Coogee), we offer classes in Buddhism and meditation in a friendly, supportive environment. Our meditation techniques can be used by anyone regardless of religious beliefs.
There are a variety of classes, whether you are a complete beginner or experienced meditator. The classes are free but we ask for a donation of whatever you can afford. We also offer fixed-term courses and meditation retreats.
By engaging in meditation you learn the patterns and habits of your mind, and the practice offers a means to cultivate new, more creative ways of being. With regular work and practice these nourishing, focused states can deepen into a profoundly peaceful and energised mind.

- Suitable for all levels of experience
In this evening we explore the use of meditation to help people in recovery from the suffering caused by addictive behaviors. It is open to people of all backgrounds, and respectful of all recovery paths with a particular emphasis of applying mindfulness meditation to the twelve-step program.
The evening starts with a half-hour semi-supine relaxation and body awareness leading into a led meditation. There is no need for any previous experience. After the meditation we discuss and workshop our experience.
We are a founding member of the Buddhist Recovery Network. There are already many attendees, it's not just a Meetup group.
