Hello Everyone,

The long-awaited Sydney KNIME User Group has finally returned, to hopefully end the year on a great re-introductory note, and to set the scene for a kickoff again in early 2018.

iCare have graciously given us a convenient meeting venue and I am expecting all of you to make it. We will be sharing our vision for the Meetup and I look forward to meeting members who would like to help build a growing user community.

We are planning to have 2 talks and a Q&A session.

Talk 1:

Mark Norrie, iCare's consultant Data Scientist will speak on

  1. How he came to be a Data Scientist?
  2. iCare's current mission and how he came across using KNIME, particular, the Claims Triage Project.
  3. Some of the interesting work we are currently engaged on in terms of Injury code conversion to ICD10, Ontologies, CRISP-DM and extensive text mining of medical case notes to determine critical markers.

Talk 2:

We have Anand Antony from the Revenue Office, to show us why and how he uses Java to do almost anything with the KNIME Java Snippet.

Talk 3: Extra

I will be sharing the UNSW AI and Deep Learning Group and how they are planning to work on the KNIME Platform so that Businesses could get an unfair competitive advantage by having access to leading-edge research.

Q& A:

Anything you wanted to know about KNIME and the future of SKUM (Sydney KNIME User Meetup)
