SSP Friday - Myuna Bay Bird Photography

Details

Would you like to try a different photographic challenge?
There is a spot on the Central Coast where warm water enters Lake Macquarie on the Western side. The warm water attracts the fish and in turn a variety of bird life feeds on the fish. The Food Chain at work.
You might see Ospreys, Sea Eagles, Kookaburras, Rosellas, Terns, Pelicans and the humble Sea Gull.
I would recommend a mirrorless or DSLR camera with telephoto lenses. The longer the better and of course a wide-angle lens for landscapes. You may wish to bring your own coffee and snacks.
I recommend a hat, sturdy shoes or boots, sunscreen and all participants accept the risks associated with being near the water and engaging in a photographic activity. Afterwards we may have lunch at Gosford RSL.
The drive is around 70 minutes North of Hornsby, and you need to make your own arrangements for transport. From Hornsby drive up the freeway past the Hawkesbury River bridge, continue straight ahead (CSA) past the Wyong turnoff till you reach the Morisset turnoff (left side of motorway). Take the right hand turn at the T intersection (Mandalong Road), travel to Dora Creek and meet at the Myuna Bay rest centre on the right-hand side of the road.
My number is 0425382248 if you need to contact me.
