A walk on the wild side!

Enjoy a day out with new & old friends as we tackle the rugged wilderness of the North Wessex Downs - a delightful strenuous trail that encompasses colourful fields, mysterious woodland & zippy ascents, as daring adrenaline junkies glide dynamically overhead on their man-made flying contraptions.

(#) Hike sections of the Wayfarer’s Walk, an ancient 71-mile-long trail stretching to the coast
(#) Admire hang gliders & paragliders launching from the notorious 1676 Combe Gibbet at the summit of Gallows Down
(#) Enjoy an outdoor lunch from an inspiring hill viewpoint
(#) Visit traditional, character rich, rural countryside villages & pubs.

  • Torch (Autumn/Winter hikes)
  • Sit mat
  • Outdoor wear – basic technical clothing & equipment
  • AVOID - jeans
  • Waterproofs (rain forecast?)
  • Footwear – recommend ankle support hiking boots, not essential
  • Packed Lunch (high energy snacks possibly)
  • Water – 1 to 2 litres
  • Vaseline (good for avoiding blisters)
