Midweek Wayfarers 2025 Awards - Event / Luncheon

The event price to be paid in advance to [verner.wheelock@vwa.co.uk](mailto:verner.wheelock@vwa.co.uk) is £25.00. Arrive 12 noon for 12,30 lunch.
The purpose is to recognise and show our gratitude to all those who volunteer their time and expertise to ensure that our organisation operates efficiently and flourishes.
They commit much time and energy to the Wayfarers. This is simply a way of getting together and saying, “Thank you”.
The winners of the Awards will be revealed at the lunch. Please let me know if you will be attending the lunch together with your menu choice. The closing date for booking a place at the lunch is Friday 1st August but hurry as its filling fast.
Any former members who are no longer active walkers will be very welcome to attend as well as guests of existing members.

Main course
· Roast Topside of Beef, Roast Potatoes, Yorkshire Pudding, Gravy, Horseradish Sauce
· Lamb Rump, Pomme Anna, Braised Red Cabbage, Butternut Squash Puree, Mint Jus
· Pan fried Sea Bream, Wholegrain Mustard Crushed New Potatoes, samphire, Crab Bisque
· Vegetarian Moussaka, Pitta Bread (V).

We are lucky to have Colin Speakman as our guest speaker for the occasion.

Colin Speakman
Colin is a keen walker, environmentalist and transport campaigner, and is author or co-author of over 50 books on the outdoors. He is co-creator of the Dales Way and chair of Dales Way Association. He is a member of both the Gritstone Writers Cooperative and The Yorkshire Society. In 2021 he won the Outdoor Writers and Photographers Guild national Golden Eagle Award for outstanding service to the outdoors.
