Russian River Float!

Details

Hey all! Grab your floatie and join us for a float down Russian River! We will be floating from Steelhead Beach to Sunset Beach near Forestville, and we will finalize carpooling details closer to day of event. 🦦🛟🌊

UPDATE - We will meet promptly at 9AM at one of the Targets in Santa Rosa (950 Coddingtown Center, Santa Rosa, CA 95401). There is limited / no service at the actual start of the float, so if you are not on time it may be impossible to find us once we've left from Target. The launch parking fills up *very quickly* on summer weekends and there is virtually no other parking in the area, hence the urgency and emphasis on a quick and early start.

At Target, we'll consolidate into cars and drive to Steelhead Beach, where we'll start our float. It will only take about 10min to group up then we will be on the road so please be prompt. Day parking at the county lot is $6.

Bring water to stay hydrated, a hat for shade, and sunscreen to avoid burns. Feel free to bring snacks or drinks, you can keep this in a dry bag or bring a floatie cooler. I personally will be boozed up but you can drink whatever you want. Please don't plan on running into Target at pickup time for supplies as Saturday morning lines delay our quick turnaround too long.

Please take read through the details and suggested items below and make sure you bring your float, water, sunscreen, and anything else you may need!

  • Floaties: Although the pizza floaties and unicorn floaties look really awesome, I recommend something like this: https://a.co/d/9fGm80x
  • Also sold at dicks sporting goods and Big 5.
  • Phone case: Be sure to also bring something to keep your phone dry, I recommend checking Amazon or Dicks: https://a.co/d/1mJyWgl
  • Dry bag: Having a dry bag is also helpful for your car keys, snacks, etc. this is one example, and these can also be found at dicks or Walmart: https://a.co/d/djTMM5O
  • Footwear: I also recommend water shoes or sandals like teva sandals, there are moments where you may have to get out of tube and walk if river is low and it’s nice to not be walking on gross rocks.
  • Bringing a little bit of thin-ish rope isnt a bad idea, to tie floaties together or tie your dry bag to your floatie.
