Ptarmigan Ridge (Casual pace/Overnight)

Details
In so far as this is only 9 miles round trip and 2100ft of elevation gain it is probably the easiest hike we'll do this year. If you can carry a full pack up Mount Si in 2–3 hours, you should be able to enjoy this hike.

The usual route ends before Portal East Peak at 6100ft, we will scramble up the Portal to just over 6400ft.

We will camp on top on the Portal East Peak, on snow.
Be aware that the snowfield northwest of Portal East Peak is Sholes Glacier and it has crevasses. We will not be traveling on the glacier. Also, there are random social trails on top the Portal East Peak that run along the edges with sudden steep drop-offs that should be avoided.
