What we’re about
This group began as a single focus group for those with a passion or curiosity for the northern parts of Australia, particularly the Northern Territories Top End and a desire to escape the winter chills of the south and ‘break the back of winter’ that for some seems to drag on forever.
Many have dreamed to of visiting and experience the majesty of Kakadu, Nitmiluk and Litchfield National Parks and gain some understanding of the Indigenous people of the north who maintain a spiritual connection to this area.
This group still maintains this focus with the premium Top End Circuit Tour scheduled only once a year. This yearly tour is our hallmark destination. However, after requests from group members who have travelled on previous tours to the Northern Territory I have decided to expand the scope of this group and will also create meetup group tours to include neighbouring countries. In 2024 we will head to Bali and Gilli Islands
Tour 1.
2024 Top End Full Circuit Tour. [Darwin, Kakadu, Nitmiluk, Litchfield]
I worked for many years as a tour guide in the Top End and have a passion for this region and am a Kakadu NP accredited tour guide and love to share that passion with meetup members who'd like to explore the north and know more about this unique part of Australia most know little about.
I believe this tour does more and goes to more places than any commercial operation in the north (and is less than half the price of a comparable tour!!!). I like to think of it as a 'directors cut' tour and as most may only get to this region once I try to load the itinerary with as many activities and locations as possible.[Full itinerary on tour release]
Tour 2
2024 Bali and the Gilli Islands
For many their understanding of Bali is limited to the party scene around Kuta Beach and Aussie surfers yet there is so much more to Bali. This tour leaves the beach bars and the tourist strip along the coast behind and heads to Ubud where we base the tour with excursions to various locations around the island.
We have selected comfortable accommodation within easy walking distance to all Ubud has to offer and travel on day excursions to the other regions of Bali. From Ubud we take off to Gilli Trawangan which is one of the three islands known as the ‘Gili Islands’ just off the coast of Lombok. [Full itinerary on tour release]
