Hike Hickory Creek Preserve, LaPorte Road Access, in Mokena, IL, about 1.5 hours
Details
The weather on Thursday afternoon is forecast to be in the low-50’s and sunny, a nice day to hike. Because sunset is at 4:34, we'll go out for 45 min and return.
If we make it there in 45 min, we will turn around at the Frankfort Township offices along Route 30, aka, Lincoln Hwy. Since it's an out-and-back route, you can always turn around earlier.
This is the LaPorte Road access to the Hickory Creek Preserve, NOT Hickory Creek Junction, where we more frequently hike, so be sure to check the map if you haven't been there. Access is to the eastern segment of the Hickory Creek Bikeway.
