Our classes, programs, and events include many drum types and styles of drumming and percussion from around the world along with programs that use the drum for health and healing. Programs are done both at the Center and at other locations that contract with WDC for services. e.g. daycare centers, senior centers, schools, churches.

Ever wanted to play in a Latin drum circle but have no idea where to start?
Start with this workshop!Led by Puerto Rican jazz drummer Moss Natal, with renowned guest artist Marvelous Leonardo on piano, this workshop is an introductory course on the history and tradition behind some of the most popular forms of Hispanic and Brazilian drumming.
Designed for all skill levels, this workshop displays the welcoming tradition of the Latin drum circle no matter if it's your first day playing percussion or if you're ready to tackle the complexities of Latin jazz drum set playing!
All levels welcome!

Moss is an expert in a wide range of music. She has studied for years with Twin Cities jazz drummer Phillip Hey; she has also studied classical and jazz composition at St Olaf College from 2019 to 2023 where she played with the St Olaf Philharmonic Orchestra.She has composed with the likes of Aryaman Joshi, a brilliant microtonal composer from India.
Moss’ true ambition is to help drummers find their own unique expression through percussion. Her expertise in the different genres of the music world comes from her countless jazz combos and big bands, rock, metal, punk, classical, neo-orchestral, and avant-garde ensembles.
Getting there and accessibility:
Please be prepared to remove your street shoes at the door. You're welcome to bring slippers or non-street shoes to change into upon arrival. We also have a limited supply of clean socks available to borrow. Our no-street shoe policy is designed to protect our new floor for posterity.
Our center is located in the basement of the Dow Building; it is accessed by one flight of stairs.
