On the second, third and fourth (and even fifth, if there is one) Wednesdays, we are continuing our ZOOM International meetings.
We want to continue to see our friends from Seattle, Istanbul, Poland, etc.
All meetings last up to 2 hours and we can then socialize a little if one wants to.....

This is a "Classic Philo Cafe".
It happens once a month in a café in the Latin Quarter (Cafe de Flore, usually).
It is public, free (but you must buy a drink) and it lasts 2 hours from 7 to 9 PM on a Wednesday.
Topics are proposed by the attendees and then one of them is chosen on the basis of its interest as a topic for all.
People speak one at a time (there is a microphone).
The "model" is the Ex-Cafe des Phares (in french) which is/was every Sunday at the Place de la Bastille from 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM.(I heard it stopped functioning due to the café's customer policy. :-(

This is the online offspring of the monthly Paris Café Philo (in person) which exists since 1997.
What happens at a Café Philo? We choose a topic among those that the participants propose and we discuss it in an orderly fashion. ...But what is a topic?
A topic can be a question about the meaning of life, what do you think about the world we live in, the difference between good and bad, how do we know what is (or is not) true…, or real…, or beautiful.
And there are many other deep questions that philosophers, scientists, writers have asked themselves!.
If you are interested in talking about these or other topics, we invite you to our online philosophical café, an oline gathering where you can express your ideas, teach us something or even learn something!
These discussions are serious, intelligent, and can even be fun!
No background in philosophy or other human sciences is required, but if you do have it, you are very welcome too, of course.
Where do we meet ?
We hold our online meetings on Zoom, a quality video conferencing platorm.
A moderator (usually myself) leads our discussions, ensuring that every participant has the opportunity to delve into our philosophical meetings in a welcoming environment. No one is obliged to talk. Maximum number of participants: 20.
What to Expect
Interactive Format: This event is NOT a lecture but an exchange of ideas where your insights and questions are welcomed. The tone is respectful and ideologies that do not respect humanity will not be accepted.
How to Join
Once you have joined the event in Meetup, the link for participating in the meeting will become visible to you. On the date and time of the event, just click the link and you will be connected with the philosophical café.
Please make sure your name or nickname appears on your frame in Zoom, and turn on your camera, as we like to see your face.
Who Can Attend
Again, this event is open to everyone, regardless of your background or level of philosophical knowledge. Whether you're a seasoned philosopher or simply someone curious about life's big questions, we welcome you to join the discussion.
