ABOUT THE PANELISTS
Keith Smith is the co-founder and CEO of BigDoor Media, a startup that powers virtual economies for digital publishers. Prior to starting BigDoor, Keith founded the company that became Zango and served as its CEO for ten years. Keith grew Zango from a startup to a multi-national company employing 300 people in six offices in four countries and multiple years was ranked among the Best Places to Work in Seattle. The company grew to $78 million in annual revenue and $24 million in EBITDA and ranked #7 on the Inc 500. Zango ultimately became a victim of the 2008 financial crisis and Keith got the opportunity to learn valuable lessons about proper levels of debt for an Internet business. Keith started and bootstrapped two other tech companies prior to 1999, both businesses were kind enough to provide Keith with vast amounts of experience in what not to do.
Michael 'Luni' Libes is a serial entrepreneur who over the past two decades has helped build six start-ups, five of which he founded. His previous companies include Ground Truth (mobile market research and analysis), Medio Systems (mobile search and advertising), Mforma (mobile gaming and applications), 2WAY (enterprise collaboration systems), and Nimble (pen computing, PDAs, and early smartphones). Luni is an Entrepreneur in Residence and Instructor at the Bainbridge Graduate Institute, advisor to The HUB Seattle and to a dozen startup companies. Most recently, Luni is the founder of Fledge LLC, a “conscious company” incubator. Fledge helps create and accelerate companies meeting the needs of the large and growing number of consumers who are: environmentally conscious, energy conscious, health conscious, conscious of sustainability, of community, and even conscious of consumption itself.
Terry Drayton is a curious, collaborative, serial entrepreneur who over the past 25 years has founded and managed eight successful companies, including Ramp Technology Group, Arena Group, HomeGrocer.com, Aquaterra, and most recently, Votocracy, the leading social media app and community for politics. A business model innovator, all started with zero sales and built to as much as $400M. He has attracted excellent business development partners and has secured more than $500M in capital. Comfortable making decisions in uncertainty, Terry has been a pioneer in many industries: bottled water, video post-production, e-commerce, software-as-a-service and now social networks. He also serves as a board member for a number of world class businesses including eNom, Naverus, and Xcerion. Terry won the Ernst and Young Entrepreneur of the Year award in 1999 for HomeGrocer.com and in 2008 was a finalist for Arena/Ramp.
